Jersey is a great place to visit when you want to be active, and it’s ideal for family getaways, but does it make for a good relaxing holiday? Perhaps completely on your own, or maybe with a small group of friends or a loved one? Jersey can offer you that too. Here are just a few examples.
Sunbathing
Although of course you will need to be covered and you’ll need to use sun cream when you’re out in the sun for long periods of time. But saying that doesn’t mean you can’t still enjoy the beautiful beaches of Jersey and make the most of them when you are there. Lie back and unwind, the warm sun on your face, the sound of the waves crashing against the shore in your ears.
Don’t worry if you think you’re going to be surrounded by children running around or people rushing in and out of the sea doing water sports. Although those things happen, there are enough beaches on Jersey to enable you to find a nice quiet spot to relax in.
Forest Bathing
Forest bathing (the less well known cousin to sunbathing), also known as shinrin-yoku, is all about taking in the atmosphere of the forest and appreciating nature all about you. The Duchess of Cambridge is a fan, and it’s easy to see why when you begin the practice. Simply by taking a slow walk through Jersey’s beautiful woodland, you will start to feel peaceful and at ease. Stay there for longer, and you’ll feel relaxed and happy.
Whether you actually practice forest bathing or you simply go for a wander; you should feel wonderful when you emerge on the other side.
Spas
If nature isn’t really for you, don’t worry – there are numerous spas on Jersey. Each one sure to give you a great feeling of relaxation. Depending on your budget, you can try:
- Yoga
- Massage
- Facials
- Aromatherapy
- Mud therapy
- Swimming
- Spa pools
- Steam rooms
- Saunas
- and much, much more.
Make your choice before you go and you’ll have more time to enjoy the treatments you decide on, and more time to unwind and feel at peace before it’s time to go home once more.
